Do it yourself “Solar Death Ray” - Parabolic Mirror Dish

Here is a great example of how you can generate heat from home using, what appears to be, a Direct TV dish or something similar, and creating a make shift parabolic dish using solar thermal. The tiny mirror solar collectors look well placed on the dish, and it is obviously producing considerable heat. It is not often we get to see a home video of a simple technology that has uses far beyond cooking wieners and heating soup. This is not just entertaining and educational. This is a fascinating technology that has been given inadequate exposure thanks to our planet polluting overindulgence of fossil fuels.

Hybrid Solar Lighting - Sun Light + Fiber Optics = Lighting Source

This is a great idea for daytime lighting and almost a free energy device. This video is more of a sales pitch to businesses. Mainly because, for now, that is the only entity that could afford the HSL 3000 system. But, as stated, with demand brings lower cost. So it is still a fascinating use of sunlight that is almost completely eco-friendly. The fiber is plastic.

Tesla Roadster: Video Test Driving the New Electric Roadster

I’m sure I’ll be posting quite a bit on efficient vehicles. Perhaps it is the PR of Tesla Motors, but this electric car is capturing more attention than its predecessors. I’m looking forward to a serious price cut like many others. Martin Eberhard, CEO at Tesla Motors said in September or ‘06 that the next phase will be a Sedan with a cost of around $45k and even lower for future models. This clip was done by PCMAG.com’s writer Cade Metz, and I must admit that looks like a blast!
