I recently received an email containing a link that I feel is very relevant and worth sharing.Eredux.com, on the surface, has an interactive map that shows your state’s carbon score along with carbon emissions per person. But, for detailed demographic data and information on energy consumption, carbon emissions in your area, contamination levels, local gas prices and so forth just click on a state and fill in your zip code.

Graeme Atty, an inventor from Australia, has designed a simple and affordable solution to supplying your home’s energy needs. Just five of these simple looking turbines can power an average home. Since the initial cost is around $700 each, a few thousand dollars for a power station is quite the bargain. The oversupply can be sent back to the grid for a potential profit in certain areas.

Google Launches Major Plug-in Hybrid & Electric Car Initiatives

RechargeIT.org or Google.org Project was launched to expedite public awareness and commercialization of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles and all-electric vehicles with vehicle-to-grid (V2G) capabilities that allows the cars’ owners to sell power back to the grid during peak load hours. To fund development, adoption and commercialization, Google.org has awarded $1 million in grants already and announced plans for a $10 million request for proposals (RFP) this summer.

Googleplex’s 9,212 Solar Panels Switched On

Google switched on its impressive 1.6 megawatt solar installation covering the roofs of its headquarters, and even shading the parking lot which will also serve to recharge the planned 100 company hybrid plug-in vehicles. The 9,212 panels are capable of powering approximately 1,000 average California homes. Google said its project is the largest solar installation to date on any corporate campus in the United States and one of the largest on any corporate site in the world.

This is a great article with new information on Altairnano’s NanoSafe batteries that power the Phoenix Motorcars SUVs that go on sale in 2008. I cannot stress my excitement about viable EV technology.
