Free Steamy Energy From Volcanic Landscape

Now here’s a place you don’t hear about every day, Kamchatka.
With a population of just under a half million, the peninsula of Kamchatka is sprinkled with steam spewing geysers which give the landscape a mystical beauty complimented by snow capped volcanoes, many of which are still active. As stated in the news piece there is enough geothermal activity to supply the whole of Kamchatka with energy.

Googleplex’s 9,212 Solar Panels Switched On

Google switched on its impressive 1.6 megawatt solar installation covering the roofs of its headquarters, and even shading the parking lot which will also serve to recharge the planned 100 company hybrid plug-in vehicles. The 9,212 panels are capable of powering approximately 1,000 average California homes. Google said its project is the largest solar installation to date on any corporate campus in the United States and one of the largest on any corporate site in the world.
